Bringing their concoctions of disassembly to Faux Discx for the first time, London’s Great Ytene are returning with a brand new full-length this year. ‘Locus‘, a title in contextual terms meaning the place or position in which something occurs – was the uncontrollable forming point for this record, and inevitably informs it to create a record with great focus and vigour.

Sharing the title track, the group have presented an elusive but in all means inclusive piece – the sharp pangs of brittle guitar surprisingly layered rather than forced in, forming together unyielding rhythms that are as resolute as they are unrestrained. A strained, tense vocal embraces the foreboding nature of the track – not circumventing the pained source, but engaging and bending the authority that envelopes it.
