Leeds Garage-Punk bruisers City Yelps released their new record, ‘The City Yelps Half Hour‘ last week (22nd April) on Odd Box Records. It’s their first full-length for the label, following their self-released LP ‘Cheap Psych‘.

The record is a wave of wounding Post-Punk and ragged Pop – particularly notable in it’s thematic consistency. It’s thirty minutes of unrelenting discouragement matched with an understated resonance. Tracks such as ‘Music for Adverts‘ combine intelligent wordplay with subtle melody under all the commanding fuzz.

The City Yelps Half Hour‘ is out now through Odd Box Records – stream the album below.
