Even a heatwave couldn’t dampen the spirits when Getdown Services took to the stage at Bristol Sounds last week. Bullying the crowd into moving and clapping, Josh and Ben made sure everyone forgot about the glaring sun for a little while.
Getdown Services have fast become one of Bristol’s proudest export. “We live in Bristol!”, they proudly declared at one point, to a cheering crowd. Who couldn’t love them? Being fully themselves, never taking anything too seriously, they are fully loveable.
When Super Furry Animals took to the stage, another sort of allegiance came to the forefront, as people waved their Welsh flags. The band have not toured since 2016 – and have come back refreshed to a hyped audience.
