Lime Garden make their debut on So Young Records with ‘Sick & Tired’

Lime Garden (fka LIME) are the most promising up and coming band of a new generation of musicians. Having recently signed to So Young’s record label, the future is looking magically bright for the Brighton band with a multitude of sold out shows both on their own and supporting ethereal folk popper Katy J Pearson on her massive UK album tour this summer.

‘Sick & Tired’ comes at crunch time for Lime Garden, after their debut and sophomore singles gained them a cult following (complete with a WhatsApp groupchat). ‘Surf N Turf’ and ‘Fever’ are brilliant tunes and more than danceable – definitely more captivating than most – but there’s a sense that a new chapter has begun in the chronicles of Lime Garden and they are going to make it ten times better than the last, ‘Sick & Tired’ truly shows a new and improved Lime Garden in their modern form.

The track itself is a hypnotic pop earworm of a tune, with vocals and percussion taking the forefront of the song; it manages to get itself stuck in your head after a single listen – after you hear this song once, you’ll be singing it for days afterwards. The guitars take a back seat for this Lime Garden track, but similarly to most middle aged dads they’re still driving from there. The distortion of the guitar tracks bring forward the hypnotic, wonky charm of Lime Garden and truly make this pop tune a unique one. In my mind, they’re the band to watch this year and I’m sure for many years to come. Keep a watchful eye, dear reader, before they’re too big to miss.
