Mystic Peach return with the brooding ‘The Eye and The Twitch’

If this is your first time listening to the grunge infused psychedelia of Mystic Peach, you’re in for a treat this Halloween season.

The Southampton based trio’s second single preys on feelings of intense paranoia and isolation and explores the pressure those feelings can put on your health and those around you.

These are feelings that frontman Curtis Gale knows all too well, “It’s about lack of sleep, confusing fantasy and hallucinations for reality and the mood swings that come with it“.

The track bubbles away like a cauldron, mesmerising the listener before spilling over into absolute chaos. As it reaches its peak, it is almost impossible not to scream along with Gale as he belts out the all too familiar sentiment, “My Girlfriend’s mad at me, I’ve got no energy.”

If there is one thing this song is lacking, energy certainly isn’t it and any newcomers will soon be under the band’s glorious spell.

The band proudly take their inspiration from classic films like A Clockwork Orange and it shows. You can’t help but feel unnerved by Mystic Peach’s tremendous new offering and that is a very good thing indeed.
