Juan Wauters has announced details of ‘Who Me?‘, his second LP to be released by Captured Tracks, set for release on 11th May. The former Beets frontman follows up his first solo record, N.A.P (North American Poetry), released last year. The Uruguayan has streamed a teaser video for the album, shot by Wauters himself as he travels around on tour and in his home town in New York.

In the teaser video, Wauters states “It’s an album about creation of new tradition and why things of quality have no fear of time.” To go along with the announcement of the record, Wauters has streamed the leading single from the record, ‘She Might Get Shot‘.

Recorded separately in both English and Spanish, the single displays the familiar bare, raw tone that has come to typify Wauter’s sound. The singer-songwriters intellectual approach to lyricism sees him attempt to attain self-realisation through the creativity of his music, while subliminally dedicating tributes to his beloved home city of New York, from the choice of cover art to the album title. The added inclusion of more instruments on the record signals a desire to incorporate the approach that Wauters takes to a live setting, while still delivering 60s folk-indebted pop.
