“So for the next two hours, will everyone get ready and prepare to suffer”
As strangely despondent an introduction this is, it was a pretty pertinent way of presenting The Black Madonna’s set at Dekmantel in Amsterdam back in 2016, surmising the chaos and ultimate celebration that would come from such an esteemed artist. So it seems pretty suitable to also include it here, as we detail the first wave artists announced for this year’s Love Saves The Day Festival in Bristol.
Four Tet is a genius. It cannot be denied, his live sets are as famous as his revered discography which now includes the excellent ‘New Energy‘ from last year. He headlines the Crack stage, as curated by the magazine, and is joined by his good friend and fellow professor of electronic dance music, Floating Points. If you haven’t experienced the chemistry these two have together, check out their NTS radio shows, they are a joyful collection of soul, funk and jazz that will educate you as much as it will move you.
Following his super intimate set through the night at Bath Moles last evening, Ben UFO plays The Percolate Stage on a day that also boasts The Black Madonna & Joy Orbison one after the other on a pretty ecstatic Sunday.
This is merely a smidgen of the music on offer at the seventh year of this ever progressing festival in Eastville Park. The main stage is taken over by previously announced headliners Sampha & Fatboy Slim, who are now joined by the exciting Tom Misch, Bicep who bring their acclaimed live set and many more.
See below for the full announcements ~ Love Saves The Day takes place across the weekend of the 26th & 27th May 2018.
