NEWS: PARQUET COURTS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM

PLEASE CAN WE HAVE YOUR ATTENTION, THIS IS VITALLY IMPORTANT.

Brooklyn slackers Parquet Courts are releasing their new record, ‘Sunbathing Animal‘, on 3rd June on What’s Your Rupture? / Mom + Pop.

The four-piece, who released the exceptional ‘Light Up Gold‘ and EP ‘Tally All The Things That You Broke‘ last year, set the precedent for delivering highly-charged, quick-witted garage rock without breaking a sweat. Now they return relatively quickly (something we’re very thankful for) with the unveiling of the new album’s title track, ‘Sunbathing Animal‘.

Much like comparing a track off Mac DeMarco‘s ‘Salad Days‘ to his sophomore release ‘2‘, you’d be forgiven for expecting ‘Sunbathing Animal’ to be a cut from the recording sessions of Light Up Gold. Rollicking riffs steam-roller in, layered with an angular yet no less melodic line from Andrew Savage‘s repertoire. It doesn’t cease either, Savage taking the track by the balls and launching into a fervent monologue, right before the band whip through with a break-neck solo and group-chants of “I’m in your control, like a Sunbathing Animal“.

NY’s finest are back, not that they’d ever left.

The track-listing for ‘Sunbathing Animal” is:

1. Bodies

2. Black and White

3. Dear Ramona

4. What Colour Is Blood

5. Vienna II

7. She’s Rollin
